Stefanie Scheu is Professor of Immunology and Director of the Institute of Immunology at Rostock University Medical Center. She studied Biology at the Technical University of Munich and carried out postdoctoral research at the University of California, San Francisco. She subsequently established her independent research career as an Emmy Noether group leader. Her research centers on infection immunology, with a focus on dendritic cells and type I interferon responses. Her group investigates how specialized immune cell subsets shape protective immunity and immune pathology during infection and autoinflammation.
